Baby Einstein refund still going on!!

A Crazy Ass Rite Aid shopping trip...the prequel...

So last night I am looking around on some blogs I frequent and find a link to Give Me Neither, which I am quite enjoying! I stumbled upon her post for this week's Rite Aid ad, and I was floored.

I'm really pretty speechless and in awe of how someone could mathematically come up with this, but she did! And this Saturday (or sooner), my sister Megan and I are going to attempt this amazing deal!

What I set out to do with this blog...

When I decided to start routinely filling up space on a blog, I thought for sure I'd be able to post about all the deals and freebies I've been getting as of late from all the wonderful, already established blog posts out there. Then I realized it's a lot harder to type about said deals, then it is to just *get* them. So I have a feeling there will be less and less postings by yours truly regarding my finds. But rather more links to those stupendous people out there who already have this market covered. I will link those of you reading this to their sites so you too can partake in the math skills they possess and get things at such bargains.

For now, I think I'll stick to just, well, typing. And continuing my photo of the day project. Which reminds me, I need to go get the camera and post todays!

And on a final note for now, I'm finding this blog to be quite therapeutic. With all the turmoil my life has gone through in the past year plus, it's nice to be able to come here and ramble. Even if only for myself!

Today's photo comes courtesy of my husband. I know it may not look like much, but I'm hoping it to be one of the best purchases ever from Ikea, where we went yesterday. Those, my friends, are our bed's brand new slats. Boring, right? Well I'll let you know how my back feels in the morning! We've been sleeping on some horrible slats ever since we got this bed used on craigslist probably close to 2 years ago. We are really hoping for some stellar results!

So I've been wanting to do a project like this for awhile. And this year I think I will.

I'm going to post (and hopefully do something non-digital with it) a new "picture of the day", everyday. It could be a person, an event, something sitting around my house that makes me happy, whatever. After getting a new camera that I *really* enjoy, I'm pumped to do this. So here goes...

I just placed my order for my free mousepad!! Apparently they have extended this offer to an additional 2,000 people so I'd jump on this. If you follow the link it will take you to where you make the mousepad and will deduct the cost of it. I then had to use the coupon code they gave me from Facebook to get rid of the shipping cost. That's right, NO SHIPPING COST on this one either! Such a good deal!

A great help for couponing resources!

Here is a great list of some helpful couponing resources, courtesy of The Frugal Find.

Great deal on a delicious treat at Walgreens!

Walgreen's has Betty Crocker Warm Delights on sale with in ad coupon for $.99 each. Go HERE to print your $.50/1 coupons, making these tasty desserts only $.50 each!!

For those of you not familiar with Walgreen's coupon policy, the number of coupons you use must not exceed the number of items you are purchasing. So we will take this deal as an example:

Buy (3) Warm Delights

Use (1) $.99 in ad coupon

Use (3) $.50/1 printable coupons

Total of 4 coupons used, 3 items purchased

This is where the *filler* item comes in. If you need nothing else and are in this situation, choose the most inexpensive (but still something you can use!) item you can to have 4 total items. For example, this week, knee highs are on sale for $.25. Another good option is to get a single print made, which is only $.19. You can do this ahead of time by uploading your photo(s) to walgreens.com (you will need to create an account, but they usually give you free prints just for signing up as well!) or taking your memory card into the store and printing your print. You can pay at the camera center for all your purchases and the photo order counts as your filler. I hope that makes sense!!

And for my first deal....$.02 Tuna!

Well here goes....

So here it is, my first post. I wanted to start a blog similar to those I've been so addicted to the last few weeks. Outlining deals I've found and have done, along with posting product reviews on some of my favorite products I've gotten through deals! I hope that people will be able to gain some knowledge on how to do this "couponing thing" through this blog. And always remember...I'm still learning myself so be patient!!

A few quick tips on couponing....

-You are allowed to print 2 of each coupon from your computer. So if you have access to 2 computers at home, or a second computer at work, utilize them (but please don't get fired for doing so; no coupon is worth that!). I do not have a work computer or a second one at home, so most of my deals are for smaller quantities of items, but I will pass along deals that people with these multiple computers can do as well!

-Get the paper delivered.

Here is a link to the info on getting the SF Chronicle delivered for $1. Thanks, Frugal Find! There seems to be some debate on whether or not they raised the price to $2 but just mention you were told about the $1 deal for the Sunday paper. You will need a credit card to pay for it to get this deal.

But seriously, this is the best way to get coupons. My friend over at The Frugal Find recommends getting one paper for every person in your house. I still haven't gone that far, but it makes sense!! And there are days when I wish I had more coupons then I have, so consider having a couple more papers delivered for that $1 price!

-Follow the way those ahead of you have done it!

I am no expert. Shoot, I don't even think I'm really that smart when it comes to doing this. But I'm a good follower!! And if you follow the way others have gotten their deals, you are sure to see the savings yourself! See these buttons on the right?! They are wonderful resources as well! It's where I get all my deals at and they are a wealth of knowledge. My circle of bloggers gets bigger everyday!

-Couponing is fun, but yes, it is work!

It *does* take time, but the savings are worth it. Just squeeze in a little time here or there to organize your shopping trips (instead of just running out for something at the last minute) and you *will* see the fruit of your labor!

And just wait to see how you feel the first time you leave a store with bags of free items, then tell me couponing isn't worth it!
